Mikey James Mondejar Brearley was born in Madrid in 1992, is bilingual in English and Spanish, and writes poetry in both English and Spanish. His first book, “Twenty Days To Midnight” was published in 2016. His poetry, with every poem written in both English and Spanish, explores the experience of autism, empathy, and love. His second book “Spectro” was published in 2020, and covers the full gamut of human emotion.

Mikey will discuss his poetry with Cary Barney from the Saint Louis University Madrid, and will read some of his poems and talk about them, there will then be an “Open Mike” session when audience members are welcome to read poetry, in English or bi-lingually. There will be drinks and snacks and a book signing.
